Ethereal

Master Ethereal is the founder of the Interdimensional Bastion Network, and is the deity beneath whom all Bastion inhabitants are employed, housed, and ruled. Ethereal's divine domains are dimension, feet, dominance, and souls. He appears as a black anthropomorphic dragon with a symmetry of glowing white markings which pulse in intensity contingent upon his demeanor and power expenditure. He does not appear to possess any manner of organic biology, and refuses study of his internal mechanisms, claiming "it should be enough to know that I am a soul incarnate." While unsubstantiated, there is currently no evidence available to refute this claim.

Phasing

Ethereal is capable of interplanar shifting, colloquially known as "phasing." This allows him to reallocate his matter to the paraspatial subplane, thus becoming partially or wholly intangible and/or invisible. While phased out, Ethereal is able to expand or contract his matter in order to enlarge or shrink himself, although he has never been observed shrinking lower than ten feet in height. Ethereal is capable of shifting between subplanes at an approximate rate of once per 3.5 nanoseconds. This allows him to grow or shrink without the observable effect of breaking physical contact with his surroundings.

Presence

Ethereal demonstrates a permanent degree of influence over all who have ever interacted with the concept of him. While the verb "ethereal" produces no unusual effect on individuals unaware of Ethereal's existence, use of the noun in reference to him causes observable changes in behavior regardless of whether an individual has previously seen or heard of him. This typically manifests as resentment or hostility, and when affected individuals are questioned, they unintentionally reveal that Ethereal's existence disproves one or more of their personally held beliefs in part or in whole.

Further exposure causes different effects dependent on the nature of the exposure. If an individual is shown images or video of Ethereal, they become curious or overtly interested in either meeting or knowing more about him. The severity of this effect is significantly heightened if the media presented to the individual focuses on his feet. If an individual in the previous stage of exposure experiences direct contact with Ethereal, they will spiral either into delusion or worshipful fascination.
